Review by hotel critic
As an interior designer from Milan, it's always fascinating for me to explore hospitality spaces that intertwine modern aesthetics with traditional charm. Our recent family vacation at Agriturismo Scannano was a mixed bag of experiences. The captivating beauty of the farm and the warm welcome from Barbara and her family initially set a promising tone. Our kids were particularly enchanted by the animals, a delight to watch and interact with, sparking endless joy and curiosity. One memorable highlight was Barbara's homemade pasta session, a lovely touch to immerse ourselves in authentic Italian culinary traditions. The simplicity of the breakfast, although homemade, left us desiring a bit more variety, especially in the beverage options. However, our stay was marred by the lack of regular room servicing and unexpected additional charges. Given the premium price we paid, the absence of certain amenities and the language barrier hindered the overall guest experience. The dinner fare, while decent, lacked the expected finesse and variety one would anticipate in Tuscany. While the farm's location offers great exploration opportunities in the surrounding areas, the gaps in service and communication dilute the overall family-friendly ambiance that Agriturismo Scannano aims to provide. For families seeking a relaxed retreat intertwined with authentic Italian experiences, this place has its fair share of charm but falls short in certain operational aspects that could elevate the guest experience, especially at the price point offered.
